Guestbook Victoria Bed and Breakfast Birds of a Feather

Celebrated our 42 wedding anniversary in this ideal setting!

Dieter, among your many gifts and talents, hospitality reigns! Thank you for your sensitivity to your guests’ needs. You know the right amount of privacy and the right amount of attention you should give. You made us feel so comfortable and your cheerful disposition is heart warming. Thank you for two delicious breakfasts. We missed meeting Annnette, but we were delighted to meet Winston. We thoroughly enjoyed this more-than-comfortable room and all it ammenities. We celebrated our 42 wedding anniversary in this ideal setting!

Hope we will be back soon, and often

We stopped here almost on a whim, a last minute addition to our celebration of our first anniversary. Our stay proved to be the icing on the cake. With so much to explore here in Victoria, I hope we will be back soon, and often.

Loved the view from the room ... herons, otter, swan, ducks

Thank you so much for the wonderful, restful stay in your beautiful "Honeymoon Suite." Your rooms have everything we could possibly need and more. Breakfast were delicious, conversations were wonderful and your assistance and suggestions for "things to do" wonderful. We loved the view from the room, watching the herons, ducks, geese and swans (and especially the otter) Our whale watching excursion was amazing  - from the pod of whales, nesting bald eagles, sea lion eating salmon, harbour seals and so many birds!! We will be back!!

Always happy to come "home" to this part of town

We had such a wonderful time in the family room (#3). The room was perfect - comfortable beds, lots of space, cozy bathrobes and the view was delightful, especially when the sheep next door were in full romp. We loved the B&B’s proximity to Fisgard Lighthouse & Hatley Castle & gardens. Dieter’s tips for an all-day outing to Port Renfrew were spot on. Our whale watching expedition lacked only whales, but we had fun anyway and were able to see three species of seals. We were thrilled to see so many flowers in bloom in spite of the somewhat chilly weather, and at least one of us (Laura) was particularly enthralled with the moss and lichens we saw everywhere !! We did enjoy downtown Victoria (especially the Royal BC museum) but we were always happy to come "home" to this part of town where swans are in the lagoon and life is quiet and peaceful. Thank you for a marvellous week and respite from our busy lives.

Exceeded our expectations

We heard about Birds of a Feather from some friends of ours that came here last summer. It exceeded our expectations, and we had a wonderful time. The food was great, the scenery beautiful and we had a never ending supply of things to do. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anybody, and we are looking forward to coming back some time soon.

Intense 3 week teaching schedule

With an intense 3 week teaching schedule at Royal Roads, Birds of a Feather is a perfect retreat after a long day of teaching. With it’s view of the lagoon, the campus and the Strait of Juan de Fuca it provides a tranquil setting to reset your mind. The rooms have kitchenettes and all the ammenities you need for the three weeks and have the added bonus of a 20 minute walk through the old growth forest to campus. I have enjoyed my stay here and would gladly stay again for next years residency.

Saved a bundle on restaurants and didn't need a car

I wanted to thank you, Dieter and Annette for the wonderful 3 weeks at Birds of a Feather. The luxurious accommodation provided everything I needed, and more, while attending Royal Roads. The room was quiet with lots of space and a great set up for working on my computer. The oversize tub and super comfortable bed was very much appreciated after long days of sitting in a classroom. What a pleasure to wake up in the morning and watch the gorgeous sun rise over the water. I was able to prepare all my own meals and being within walking distance to campus was a real bonus. I saved a bundle on restaurants and didn’t need a car! I would highly recommend Birds of a Feather to anyone who is attending residency at Royal Roads, as well as to anyone who just wants to spend a few luxurious evenings on the Island.

What an amazing place we discovered

We came here on our honeymoon and what an amazing place we discovered. Waking up all week to the views, birds, and sunshine makes it hard to leave. Loved seeing the same seagull every morning greeting us. We loved eating at Johns Place in Victoria. Also MyChosen Cafe & Pizza tased great. Perhaps we will return some day to explore and see new sights. Thank you so much for this!

Loved our week here

We loved our week here, especially since we were visiting our "one and only" two year old grandson. Even in February we found plenty to do when our daughter was at work. It was great to borrow your bicycles on a gorgeous sunny day and bicycle through Royal Roads University grounds. We hope to be back some day.

High speed internet

Having stayed at Birds of a Feather on vacation, it was natural for me to choose the location for my stay during the first residency of my Royal Roads MBA program. The location is very close to school, so not far to drive when the library closes at 10!  As well, it gave me a space away from school to reflect and recharge - and with the high speed internet and Skype it was like I was in the residency with the rest of my team!.

Fabulous place to stay, great rooms, and great location - will be back for res 2!

Eliminated the anxiety about the whole school thing

I stayed at Birds of a Feather for 3 weeks in Nov/Dec for the first of two 2 Royal Roads grad program residencies. I preferred to stay off-campus for a little privacy, but I had no idea how good my decision would ultimately be. Birds of a Feather is very conveniently located - about a 5 minute drive from campus. Their suites are so incredibly comfortable: modern, clean, quiet, and are stocked with every helpful amenity you can think of. The reliable high speed wireless internet was especially helpful as a student. The serene and picturesque location was the perfect backdrop to our scholastic experience. Dieter and Annette are extremely organized and helpful – they have a great sense of humour, make you feel immediately comfortable in their home, and they really do make wonderful breakfasts! I would recommend their B&B to anyone – but especially to RRU students or faculty looking for the perfect place to call home for their stay. I booked for next year before checking-out this year!

The fire flickered ...

Our stay at Birds of a Feather has been so many wonderful things, it is difficult to know where to begin! In a few days we have seen glorious sun rises, amazing birds, mossy forests and many smiling faces. We have eaten great food - especially the seafood chowder at the Six Mile Pub - Hugo’s and MyChosen Cafe. The room has been so warm and comforting - the fire flickered as the wind outside blew and rain, sleet and a flake or two of snow fell. I read an entire Jane Austen novel and Mick finished his 600 page novel. This was just the kind of R&R we needed.

Conveniently located near RRU

As I pursue my Master of Arts in Professional Communication, my schedule of studies at Royal Roads University includes two annual on-campus sessions. It was a pleasure to stay at Birds of a Feather Bed & Breakfast for my first three-week session. I enjoyed the wonderful suite and the terrific, quiet setting which is conveniently located near the RRU campus. I am definitely returning next year for my second session.

Breathtaking View

We stayed as a little "getaway" from Vancouver. The view is absolutely breathtaking and your clean and comfortable room was to exceed our expectations. We would love to come back and enjoy the famous breakfasts you have to offer. We enjoyed our stay at Birds of a Feather and will be back.
