An afternoon at the lighthouse up the beach
I was down on the lagoon walking today with a good friend of mine, and we noticed a small grey whale swimming about 150 ft off of shore! As this is unusual I raced home to get my camera. Unfortunately whales swim faster than I can legally drive and when I returned all of 5 minute laters he had swam out of range for a good shot. By this point another friend of ours joined up with us along with her 2 children.
We all decided to walk around the bend towards Fort Rodd Hill to see if we could catch another glimpse of the little whale. We couldn’t … We did however get to do a nice tour of the Fisgard Lighthouse (even signed the guestbook). The walk along the beach was beautiful, and the conversation was light. I cannot think of a more perfect way to spend the summer solstice here in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
