InnKeeper Recommended Eateries in Greater Victoria

The City of Victoria is a gourmand’s paradise!

The restaurants and pubs featured throughout this web site have been personally visited and are recommended by Dieter and Annette, owners of Birds of a Feather B&B. Approximate travel times from the B&B are listed for the convenience of our guests.

Thanks to our thriving tourism business and the laid back life style of Victoria’s population, we boast the second highest number of restaurants per capita of any other city in North America (after San Francisco)! With our rich multi-cultural heritage, you can find just about any kind of cuisine you want, from Asian Fusion to European Traditional, to casual cafes, family restaurants, and fine dining establishments of all sizes and types. Foodies do not need to go to Europe to have a culinary vacation.

dining in Victoria, BC
Victoria and Vancouver Island have it all – fresh seafood, pasture raised meats, artisan cheeses, outstanding organic produce and wild foods from the forest. Local chefs and residents alike support the farmers on the Saanich Peninsula and Cowichan Valley who produce such high quality foods - not to mention a wide selection of award-winning wines from this burgeoning wine, growing area. Visitors can experience the Island’s bounty in many of Victoria’s restaurants, but local markets are also an entertaining way to get a taste of Victoria.

A particularly good time to visit Victoria and sample the local cuisine is in February, when Tourism Victoria and the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association, Victoria Branch (BCRFA) are sponsoring their annual Dine Around Town & Stay in Town Victoria. An estimated 50 participating restaurants offer 3 course menus costing $15, $25, $35 dollars per person. Offering outstanding value to customers will allow restaurants to entice locals and visitors alike to Dine Around and dine around often during this 18 day event.
