We start our tour alongside the Parliament buildings and continue through the historic James Bay neighborhood. Breathe in the fresh salt air as we turn onto the Dallas Road waterfront and be captivated by the magnificent Olympic Mountains. We return through James Bay past many of our Heritage Homes and then back to Victoria’s spectacular Inner Harbor.

Open to the public by general admission the BC Aviation Museum Society is dedicated to preserving aircraft and aviation artefacts. The museum collects, restores and displays aircraft and artefacts related to the history of aviation in Canada, with emphasis on British Columbia. Museum activities include aircraft restorations to static or airworthy status, constructing engine displays, modeling aircraft, maintaining artefacts, books, pictures and videos representative of flight, and creating memorials to aviation and the people who made it happen.

Victoria High Tea

The tradition of High Tea goes back many years to the late 1700’s. In England at that time there were two main meals daily, Breakfast and Dinner. Dinner was served very late in the evening, so it was a very long time between meals. The Duchess of Bedford(1788-1861) complained about a "sinking feeling" in the late afternoon. Afternoon tea was her invention to keep her going until dinner. She would invite friends to join her for tea at 5p.m. Other hostesses quickly copied her idea.
Ghost walking tours

Ghostly Walks are walking tours conducted every night from mid-June to mid-September and on weekends through the rest of the year, with additional tours in October. Ghost tours for booked groups may be arranged at any time. The tours have been developed by John Adams, one of Victoria’s foremost historians and storytellers, who has been leading ghost tours through the alleys and haunted places of Victoria since 1970. He has appeared on the TV series Ghosts and Ghoulies and on OLN’s Creepy Canada. The tours are conducted by John and his team of expert guides.

Western Speedway, part of “All Fun Recreation Park”, is a 4/10-mile paved oval track and has been part of Victoria since 1954. Western Speedway, Western Canada’s oldest Speedway, has first class steel structured grandstand seating for 4,500 fans on the front straightaway and paved parking for over 1,500 cars.

The first lighthouse on Canada’s west coast is still in operation! There hasn’t been a keeper here since the light was automated in 1929, but every year many thousands of visitors step inside a real l9th century light, and capture some of the feeling of ships wrecked and lives saved.
