Hotel Privacy with B&B Hospitality and Personal Service

Birds of a Feather B&B has been exceeding our guests expectations since 1997. Our thousands of guest reviews speak of wonderful experiences which can say it better than we ever could.

From the moment you park your car you will feel as you have stepped in to a postcard. In fact one of the most common requests we regulary receive is, "do you have availability to extend our stay?"

Birds of a Feather is truly a destination B&B. We can see dowtown across the harbour; a short 20 minute drive. We are on a large "lake-size" ocean lagoon - also designated a Migratory Bird Sanctuary - connected to but sheltered from the open ocean which facilitates our private dock stocked with canoes and kayaks free for our guests to use - and several Adriondack chairs for you to lounge in.

The north shore is lined by nearly 600 acres of mostly old growth forest of the Hatley National Historic Park, also home to Hatley Castle and it's 3 amazing gardens; Japanese, Italian and Rose Gardens. You can walk or cycle through endless trails or paddle next door.

The 3-unit B&B (top floor of house - we live downstairs) has been purpose built with fully equiped kitchettes, sound-proofing, private access, heated floors, fireplaces, ocean views, luxury soaker tubs and rain showers, cathedral ceilings - all to master craftsman workmanship standards. The unique design also allows for both families and honeymooners alike to enjoy complete privacy from one-another.

The grounds have several colourful gardens complete with several comfortable sitting areas to enjoy the views.

While our condo-like units are more vacation rentals than what people commonly come to expect of a B&B - in fact from November through March we are typically fully booked with weekly vacation rentals - we also pride ourselves on personal service hospitality. We are never "in your face," however, we are delighted to share our local experiences with you in everything from where to eat and what to do. For the more adventurous we even operate our own private land and marine tours.

Full course hot breakfasts - often with fresh baked goods from up the hill at RoyalBayBakery.com - are always included and are a fun time to share travel stories with other guests. When's the last time you ever did that at a hotel? This is also a convenient time for us to further assist you with planning your day's activities and making reservations for you at recommended restaurants, whale watching, and other activities.

One such example of a tip from someone who lives here is for those visiting the Butchart Gardens. We ourselves prefer to go in the early evening. Less tour buses over from Vancouver for the day - people who travel in groups often also walk on the sidewalks in groups - but more importantly you'll have an opportunity to see the sunken gardens all lit up at dusk. There are excellent dinner options at Butchart everything from a first class cafeteria to a first class restaurant to snack bars to a picnic with a bottle of winr if you wish that they will prepare for you - you can even bring your own picnic.

Our rates are competitive and have remained the same since 2006 when we reopened after a complete rebuild. If you could find similar accommodations downtown they would be at least 30% more.

Parking is convenient and free. High speed Wi-fi interent access is also free as is courtesy use of our guest computer.

We strive to make each and every experience personal and rewarding. Our measure of success is both the number of repeat and word-of-mouth guests we are fortunate to receive year after year.

What can we do to make your next trip to Victoria the best one ever?
